Thoughtfulness
Deuteronomy 4:9
“Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons.
Thoughtfulness is an attribute that helps us to remember God consistently.
But as human we tend to easily forget our experiences with God and in life generally.
That was why God will always command the Israelite to take 12 stones and raise them as memorial to always remember what the Lord did and to be able to share it with their children in future.
In Joshua 1:8 ‘ Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.’
God had to tie the prosperity of Joshua to meditation on the word which is the bedrock of thoughtfulness.
Because you can’t meditate without being thoughtful.
God is mindful of us,like wise he also want us to be thoughtful of him and we can only achieve that by meditation.
When we meditate on his word and speak them, we have every tendency to retain God in our memory. But if otherwise, we may gradually forget, which is very dangerous.
Let us learn the act of meditation by been thoughtful of God and his words today.
