OPERATING IN HIS FULLNESS

TEXT: Mathew 13:1-3

The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side .

And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

Jesus was never tired of ministerial work. He was never caught unaware. He lived all his life for the kingdom.he was always prepared. The crowd came to him and without trying to prepare or check through his sermon notes. He opened his mouth and started talking.

He was always ready and prepared. He’s always got something to offer the people. He was never empty.

There was no time he had nothing to offer. Even in the storm, while he was asleep. As they woke him up, he rebuked the storm immediately. He didn’t try to go on a dry fast to tackle the storm. He was always ready and never empty.

When he was hungry and his disciples went to get him food, they came back to meet him preaching the gospel of the kingdom, though hungry. He told them his food is to do the work of He that sent him and finish it.

No matter what he may be passing through, the kingdom of God first. He told us to seek first the kingdom and his righteousness, he also lived it out.

Even while he was dying at the cross, the work of the kingdom was still paramount to him, he still save a soul to the kingdom. His predicament never blindfolded him.

What was his secret?

Act 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

We need the fullness of the Holy Ghost not to appear empty before our generation.

John 1:16 And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.

We need sufficient grace to discharge our duty here on earth. This grace will only be available in his fullness. It’s the fullness of the Holy Ghost that helped Jesus to discharge his duty properly.

If your generation gather together before you, do you have what to offer them.

Why seek to be famous when you have not been filled up to the brim and don’t have anything to offer. Why seek to be great when you are empty.

I remember, after my NYSC, I went for a retreat. My major concern was for the lord to give me my life partner, as that is the normal thing to do and I also felt, I had waited enough, and it’s time for the lord to compensate my waiting.(Lol)

One of the facilitators of our mature singles class asked us a question I couldn’t answer. She said ” why do you want to get married? ”

I felt that wasn’t a reasonable question. After NYSC, after obeying God and turning down many offers just to please the Lord, the next thing should be a good job and marital settlement.

That day, I realize I have been praying for a miracle I wasn’t ready for. Why did I need a life partner? Then I realize it’s because that’s the normal thing society believe, but in actual sense I wasn’t ready for a relationship. I had nothing to offer any man that comes my way. This illustration is just by the way.

The place of discharging our duties may be in area of purpose, marriage, carrier, leadership. e.t.c.

We need the Lord to fill us up, like how he did to the disciples at the upper room. They were able to discharge their duties properly because the Holy Ghost filled them up and they became inspired to respond to the responsibilities before them.

Let’s pray for the fulness of the Holy Ghost so we can deliver all the Lord will have us give to our generation. May we not appear empty when our time of showing comes.
