Diligence
Proverbs 22:29 “Seeth thou a man diligent in his business, he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mere men.”
Colossians 3:23 ” And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily (with all your heart), as unto the lord and not unto men.”
Diligence brings multiplication. In Luke 19, the master gave ten of his servants ten talents, meaning one talent per person. And as they appeared before him to give account, the first man made ten talents from just one talent. The second man made five from one talent. Another man came with the one talent that was given to him. Jesus only told us three out of the ten servants, I believe the reason is because the three cases were peculiar ones. The other seven had similar cases, but that not our focus for now.
Note that their reward was based on their results. The last man standing despised the seed. The same seed others worked with to get more, he kept and did nothing with it. The man who gained 10 more talents was given 10 cities. This implies that you can’t go big if you don’t grow big, and growth has process. A cocoa tree can’t grow in one day, it must undergo process, because it carries life. Whatever carry life must grow. Don’t despise the days of little beginning. Give your business the opportunity to grow. If you are not faithful in little, greater doors can’t open for you. Even the kingdom of God grows because it carries life.
JESUS told us that the kingdom of God is like a mustard seed that later grew up to shelter men. So if you want to be big, follow the pattern, let His kingdom come upon your business. Give your business the opportunity for growth. Jesus came as a tiny baby, there was a time the Saviour of the world was looking weak and fragile, that doesn’t change the fact that He is the Saviour, But He needed growth to fulfil that purpose. He needed that stature to die for us on the cross. He was not healing the sick and raising the dead as a baby boy. He grew to the required stature before He was launched into ministry. If it is God, then it is good. He maketh all things beautiful in His own time. There is no need rushing, we are not competing with anybody. You must build into your business the kingdom of God, if u actually want it to carry life. There is a growth process. The talent grew to 1,2,3,4,5,…10. The man didn’t just get there in one day. The one who got 5, stopped at five. The man who gained extra 10 talent was given 10 cities. If he had done more he might have got more.
If you want to gain influence throughout the world, start from your territory and be faithful with what you are doing. Think big! But you will need to grow big!
Also, note that their reward was based on their turnover. Just with one talent, you can take over ten cities and more. With just one seed, one idea, one business, you can take over as many territories as possible. God used one Son to change the whole world. Never despise the days of little beginning.
You are a portion in the body of Christ, Take responsibility, be diligent!
